VDS8 General DescriptionVDS8 series Intelligent Motor Soft Starter adopted latest electric electronic technology, microprocessor and control theory, show the international advanced level for starting motors, able to limit the startup current, voltage of asynchronous motor. This starter is widely used for wind fan, water pumps, crusher, ball mill, blender, transmission equipment, compressor, and etc heavy duty machines. It is an ideal substitute for those starting device such as star/delta transfer, self-coupled voltage reduction, magnetic controlled voltage reduction type.

Control function of VDS8 Series
1. Intelligence: Programmable input / output terminals provided, built-in load management program, to execute the proper running
status and etc.
2. Local bus Modbus, meet with characterized demand.
3. HMI in Chinese, set the parameters and programming.
4. Analog current signal 4-20mA and 0-20mA.
5. Keyboard and remote control, shift each other, to ensure the safety of operator.
6. Time delay relay, output port programmable.
7. Fault output relay, if system has fault, this relay take action, the starter can reset after stopped, programmable.

VDS8 Working theory
The control core of VDS8 is microprocessor DSP, which can start and protect the motor. DSP can perform control of touch-off for phase angle on SCR, to reduce the voltage on the motor, then regulate the voltage and current for motor, increase the rotation torque of motor smoothly, till motor run at full speed. This startup mode can decrease surging current cause by startup, lessen the impulse on network and motor, meanwhile lighten the impact of mechanical load connected with motor. Consequently it can extend service life of equipment, reduce fault or stopping accident.
